Senseless Acts…

Senseless Acts – the acts that make NO sense.  No matter how you try to rationalize them in your mind, you gain absolutely no understanding, no clarity and may even end up thinking about them over and over in your mind with absolutely no resolve.

Heartless Acts – the acts that appear to have NO human feeling in them.  We all have a sense of empathy when we think about other people.  Especially when there has been a situation that we can relate to.  But, when perpetrator’s prey on incent victims with no regard for human life – these events turn out to be heartless leaving all to wonder what is wrong with the individual who could carry out something so heartless.

For the last two days my heart has been so sad.  This has been one of the hardest blogs for me to write.  These two situations that I have named above…senseless acts, heartless acts even lend mind to outright EVIL ACTS has me stunned.  Shaken my core.  How could someone be so senseless at the life of another?  Heartless not to care about their lives, their families, their God inspired purpose for being on the face of the earth to even commit some of the terrible crimes that we hear of today.

My city, along with the rest of the news has felt the ache in our hearts for the events that took place on all days – Resurrection Day.  I have not been able to think (or hear) of anything else in the last passing days.  The details so hard to relive, think or even try to understand.  The outpour of love for the family.  I’m just Speechless…

The reasoning behind it will have your mind (as it has mine) in a whirlwind of thought.  It just does not make any sense that someone could be so senseless!!!  My prayers go out to the family and even more for the soul tortured to commit such a thoughtless crime.  In times like these many lean on the Word of God for support.  The good book reminds us,

“Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.  For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.”

In my own life when I have had some really dark moments that I have dealt with one or two senseless acts – I depended on the Word to help me through it.  I have to be honest in saying that it did not bring comfort immediately…my flesh wanted revenge as I have heard many people voice their opinions on social media and the radio airways.  I remember in one of the Tyler Perry movies when Madea mentioned, “I want them to get got NOW!!!”  My truest self has felt this way.  My spiritual self reminds my physical self one of the biggest lesson I have ever had to learn –  the Lord comforts by telling the words He promises in Romans 12:19:

Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, VENGEANCE is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

It is HUGE for the family to forgive the person responsible for conducting this senseless, heartless, heinous act.  Only God knows where they are pulling their strength from.  I Bless God for each of them today.

I would love to hear from you – where do you pull from in the moments of your life that are senseless???  Whether it be an act of God, or, an act of man, we have all had something we have had to deal with that has blown our minds.  You know the moments…The hard ones (like these) that you can quite put into words.  Do you have a secret place you escape to be alone?  A friend you talk with?  Maybe you spend time with nature by taking a walk?  Or, like me you get your journal out to sort your feelings?  If you haven’t tried journaling let’s do it together.  Today, as hard as this moment is, let’s Journal the Journey TOGETHER!

Be blessed

Kenetha
